EnergyStock’s available capacity has been virtually sold out for 2019. In order to achieve better utilisation of the existing functionality of the Zuidwending underground gas storage facility and be able to increase our market share, we are working to add one extra cavern to the underground gas storage facility and adapt the installation accordingly. The project activities are progressing according to the planned schedule and the extra cavern is expected to be operational by the end of 2020.
The rising trend at Gate in the number of unloaded ships, which started in 2018, has continued. This is mainly due to the development of the worldwide market for liquefied natural gas (LNG). The number of ships unloaded in the first half of 2019 is already equal to the total number of ships in 2018, which will result in a record feed-in of LNG (4.5 billion m3) to the GTS network.
